Voting by Mail? Mail Ballots No Later Than Friday
If you are voting by mail, the Contra Costa County Elections Division says you should mail your ballot no later than Friday. If you're late, you can still deliver it in person up to 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6.

If you're a Contra Costa County resident who's among the growing number of voters who submit their ballots by mail, the county Elections Division says you should mail your ballot no later than Friday.
"Mail your ballot no later than the Friday before Election Day," says the instruction booklet provided by the Elections Division. Election Day is next Tuesday, Nov. 6.
If you don't mail it in time, you can still drop it off at the Elections Department before the election or at any polling place on Election Day, according to the Election Division's website.

"You may come in person to the Elections Department at 555 Escobar St. in Martinez and drop it off any time before election day between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.," the website says.
"On election day, you may return a Vote by Mail ballot to the Elections Department or any polling place in Contra Costa County between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m."

For mail ballots to be counted, they must be received by 8 p.m. on election night, the Elections Division says. Postmarks don't count.
