RICHMOND, CA- A man arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after slamming into a Richmond police officer's patrol car Saturday night was identified today by police as 35-year-old Eric Scott. The Walnut Creek man was allegedly involved in a crash that occurred around 9:30 p.m. at an intersection in the city's Southern District. The officer complained of back pain after the crash, police said. Scott allegedly smelled of alcohol and failed sobriety tests. His blood alcohol level was two times the legal limit, according to police. Scott has been convicted of DUI in the past, police said. The Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office has not filed charges against him as of this afternoon.
