Alleged Jewelry Store Robbers Named; Employee Was Pistol-Whipped
Sir-Nikko Phillips, David Martinez, Quann Brown, Lorenzo McCoy and Leandre Jackson were arrested Thursday.

Thursday's robbery of an Elk Grove jewelry store started with an armed man entering a Laguna Boulevard shop around 2 p.m. and pistol-whipping an employee, police said Friday.
That suspect then buzzed in three more men, who ransacked Guzzi Fine Jewelers, 5060 Laguna Blvd.
Police say the four suspects ran outside to a fifth man, who was waiting in a red Ford Taurus with paper license plates.

Elk Grove Police located the car nearby, spokesman Officer Chris Trim said in an email.
"The driver of the vehicle did not yield and led officers on a short pursuit that terminated in a parking lot in the 8400 block of Elk Grove Blvd.," Trim said. "The suspect vehicle collided with a parked car and the five suspects fled on foot. Four of the suspects were quickly taken into custody in the parking lot. Another suspect fled into a residential neighborhood and was eventually located."
