Don't Worry, That Smoke is From a Training Fire

Elk Grove residents who see smoke billowing from an area in the southern part of the city Wednesday shouldn't be alarmed.

The Cosumnes Fire Department is practicing and will set fires south of Bilby Road, the agency said on Twitter.

"Recruit academy conducting live fire training south of Bilby Road in Elk Grove," the fire department posted. "Smoke in the area is to be expected throughout the day."
