Historic House Gets Makeover
A kiosk is for rent at the property on Elk Grove Blvd and Elk Grove Florin Road.
Curious drivers may have wondered about the construction happening on a vintage white bungalow at the corner of Elk Grove Blvd and Elk Grove Florin Road.

Mary Walters, a partner at McGovern Planesi Walters LLP, told Elk Grove Patch the firm is relocating to the house from Sacramento because all of the principals live in Elk Grove.

“I’ll be able to bike to work,” she said gleefully.
Walters said the building was once owned by the Coltons, a prominent Elk Grove family that ran one of the area's first dairies around the turn of the century, on a ranch stretching between Grant Line Road and the Cosumnes River.

She and her colleagues restored the house’s original hardwood floors and added a ramp outside to make it accessible to people with disabilities. They plan to move in Nov. 4.
And heads up, Elk Grove entrepreneurs: The wood-paneled kiosk in the parking lot, once a drive-through coffee stand, is now available to rent. Walters said that to comply with city regulations the new tenant must be another food or drink business.
Anyone interested in renting the kiosk can contact Walters at 916-214-4562.
