It’s Just a Science Experiment, Officer
Elk Grove chemistry teacher's wild night turns into a bomb scare. Luckily, it was a false alarm.

An Elk Grove science teacher’s night on the town turned explosive Sunday when Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies blew up an experiment left in his pickup truck that they suspected might be a bomb, according to news reports.
The device, a Tupperware container with batteries and wires connected to it, was found by a tow truck driver in Dave Teberg’s vehicle after he was arrested for public drunkenness in Placer County, according to The Sacramento Bee and KTXL.
The cops detonated it just to be on the safe side, and called Teberg, who teaches at , to the scene to explain himself.

Teberg managed to convince the authorities he meant no harm.
"Basically the dude is a chemistry teacher who has the knowledge to take some run of the mill stuff and generate a kind of makeshift fireworks show," sheriff's department spokesperson Jason Ramos told Elk Grove Patch. "He's kind of a mad scientist guy who likes to show off at parties."

The cops followed Teberg back to his home just to make sure he didn't have any bomb-making materials socked away. He didn't, and was released without any additional charges filed.
Teberg’s students, meanwhile, seem to appreciate his talent for hands-on demonstrations.
Mr teberg is an awesome teacher, one student wrote on RateMyTeachers.com. He can make me mad sometimes but hes still fun. I love his demos and when he says "Time flys when you're blowin up stuff"
