Update: Man Who Went Missing Monday is Safe

Ross Hightower, 85, has been located.

Update, 11:22 a.m. Wednesday: Ross Hightower has been found and is safe, officials say.

Original post: Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding an 85-year-old man who has been missing since Monday afternoon.

Ross Hightower was last seen leaving the Kaiser hospital at 6600 Bruceville Road around 2:30 p.m. Monday, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department press release.

Authorities consider Hightower at-risk because of his age "and the fact that he is missing under circumstances inconsistent with his normal behavior patterns," the press release states.

Hightower (see attached photo) is described as a white male, 5’6” tall and weighing 125 pounds. He has short, grey hair and brown eyes, and was last known to be wearing a short-brimmed straw hat, wire-rimmed glasses and light blue jeans. His vehicle is a four-door, pearl-white Mazda 5, with California license plate #6HGV025.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of this missing person is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115.
