Map: Where Should the City Put New Speed Bumps?

Make a request for your neighborhood on this interactive map.

The holidays are almost upon us, and the City of Elk Grove is making a list and checking it twice—a list of locations for new speed bumps, that is.

Each November, Elk Grove residents have a chance to lobby for traffic calming measures in their neighborhoods as the public works department draws up its plans for the coming year.

We've made that process a little easier with this interactive map. We marked all the city's 80 or so existing speed humps, lumps and tables in blue. (Locations are approximate, based on information provided by the city.)

If you know of a location in Elk Grove that could use a speed control device, just click the 'Add' button on the map, choose red as the color for your marker, type in the address or intersection, and hit 'Submit.' We'll share the results with city officials.

You can also visit this page on the City of Elk Grove website to learn more about speed control and fill out an official request form. Forms are due by Nov. 23.
