Poll Results: And the Winner Is...Severus Snape?!?!

Mounting a vigorous write-in campaign, Elk Grove Patch readers chose Severus Snape as your favorite Harry Potter character in our .

Over half of you added your own answer to the poll, with the vast majority of those votes going to the stringy-haired potions master with the big secret.

"He is the bravest, most lovable character," one reader gushed.

For those of you who haven’t yet seen Hallows, Part Deux (or read the book), we won’t reveal what Snape's secret is exactly. But let’s just say that he definitely isn’t who he seems, and while we were surprised by the upset, we sympathize with those of you who gave him the nod.

Tied for second place at 16 percent each were Harry and Hermione, with many seeming to agree that Harry's brainy friend is a role model for girls everywhere. (Check out this Huffington Post blog post on that very topic.)

Nine percent of you voted for Ron and seven percent for Dobby the house elf. Showing your true Order of the Phoenix colors, none of you chose He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

Luna Lovegood also snatched up a good portion of the write-in vote, with others nominating everyone from Fred Weasley to Peeves the Poltergeist.

We finally caught the last movie on Sunday and were impressed by the convincing battle scenes and not-too-cheesy ending.
