Students at Merryhill Preschool Release Butterflies for Earth Day

Students celebrated Earth Day and protecting the environment by releasing beneficial bugs into their schoolyard to help local vegetation

Students at Merryhill Preschool on Laguna Park Drive in Elk Grove recently explored a bug’s life in celebration of Earth Day as they released butterflies throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees.

Leading up to Earth Day, students observed caterpillars, their cocoon development and transformation into butterflies. Merryhill Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
