Phone hacking scandal spreads to British government. The brouhaha over journalists hacking into people's voicemail continues in the United Kingdom, The New York Times reports. Rupert Murdoch—who owns Fox News along with News of the World, the tabloid that did the spying—has shut down the offending newspaper. But legislators now want to know why the British prime minister hired one of the Murdoch employees arrrested in the scandal.
