The Metropolitan Transportation Commission data shows Emeryville far outpacing nearby Oakland and Berkeley despite its heavy daytime traffic, highlighting consistent local investment in road upkeep and the need to keep funding maintenance as roads age. 
• Looks Like the Bay Lights Will Be Coming Back On In March 2026, Though Maybe a Little Later (sfist.com) — Emeryville residents may soon see a revamped Bay Lights display shining more brightly from both sides of the Bay Bridge, with organizers targeting an early 2026 relaunch, possibly March. The new “Bay Lights 360” is designed to be visible from many East Bay communities, including Emeryville, though final timing still depends on weather, installation logistics, and regulatory approvals.
• Bay Area Punk Fans Duke It Out Over Jello Biafra's Beat-Up Celica (hoodline.com) — Emeryville gets a shout-out as the current home base of Alternative Tentacles, the indie label benefiting from Jello Biafra’s auction of his well-worn 1989 Toyota Celica. Bay Area punk fans are bidding the car into five figures, with proceeds helping sustain the long-running DIY operation and its mail-order-driven work.
