Burglary Suspect Crashes Into Several Cars During Pursuit In Encinitas
The suspect struck two parked cars, rammed two sheriff's patrol cars, and crashed into another car on Interstate 5, authorities said.
ENCINITAS, CA — A burglary suspect crashed into several vehicles while leading deputies on a pursuit Tuesday through Encinitas, authorities said.
The pursuit started shortly after 9 a.m. when deputies responded to a report of a prowler at a home in the 600 block of Fourth Street, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Deputies saw a man, later identified as Dominic Ferrara, 31, leave the home and the drive away.
During a nearly 10-minute pursuit, Lt. Zheath Sanchez said Ferrara struck two parked cars, rammed two sheriff's patrol cars, and crashed into another car on southbound Interstate 5 near La Costa Avenue. Following the crash, Ferrara got out of his car and ran into a neighborhood near the 500 block of Rockport Court.

Deputies searched the area, found Ferrara and took him into custody, Sanchez said. He was expected to face charges of burglary, reckless evasion of peace officers, assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.
