In that case, Olea was being taken from court to a holding cell when he allegedly used a makeshift knife to try to stab a deputy.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Office said that when the deputy opened the holding cell door, Olea tried to stab him in the head and neck. The deputy was able to fend off the attack and sustained only minor cuts to his hand, the sheriff's office said.
Olea remains in custody without bail.
