City Votes to Redesign Coast Highway 101 in Leucadia

The Encinitas City Council voted to spend $760,000 on engineering work for the project. Plans call for adding roundabouts, eliminating a northbound lane and increasing landscaping along the corridor from A Street to La Costa Ave, according to a U-T San Diego report. 

Business owners and residents were divided on what should be done with the design work, some wanting it immediately and others not at all.
