Nominations Sought For 2026 Encinitas Senior Citizen Service Award

The award recipient will be honored at an Encinitas City Council meeting with a plaque housed at the Encinitas Senior Center.

ENCINITAS, CA — The city of Encinitas is seeking nominations for the 2026 Senior Citizen Service Award.

The city's Senior Citizen Commission, in partnership with the Encinitas Rotary Club, will honor an Encinitas resident with the award, which recognizes a senior who demonstrates outstanding leadership and volunteerism in Encinitas. The award will be based on dedication, overarching commitment, and demonstrated impact of those served, according to the city.

"Our city has grown in beauty, as a home to many, on the shoulders of the Encinitas seniors who believe in the spirit of volunteering," Senior Citizen Commissioner Maureen Martin said. "Please help us recognize one this year."

The award recipient will be honored at an Encinitas City Council meeting with a plaque housed at the Encinitas Senior Center. Additionally, the award winner will be recognized as the guest of honor at an Encinitas Rotary Club meeting and invited to participate in the Encinitas Holiday Parade as a special guest of the Senior Citizen Commission.

Nomination forms can be sent to the Parks and Recreation Department at 505 South Vulcan Ave. or via email to PRCA@encinitasca.gov. Mailed applications must be postmarked and emailed submissions must be received by 4 p.m. March 19. The nomination form and eligibility guidelines are available at EncinitasCa.Gov/Recognition.
