Cleopatra and Bill Clinton in Encino? [VIDEO]

The Egyptian queen and former president are just two of the figures in the spotlight at the Encino-Tarzana library this month.

If you enjoyed the 's recent , you might want to check out the library's events for the coming month. All the activities and clubs are provided by the library staff and the Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library.

Jan. 5, 3 p.m: Friends of the Library Page Turners' Book Club. The group will be discussing Cleopatra, A Life by Stacy Schiff. This event will take place at a location other than the library. (Click on the video to the right to see Schiff talk about her book).

Jan. 7, 10 a.m-3 30pm: SAT Practice Test.

Jan. 11, 3-5 p.m: A screening of the Persian movie My Tehran for Sale, with English subtitles. (Click on the video to the right to view the trailer).

Jan. 17, 4-5 pm: Storytime for children and families.

Jan 18, 1-2:30 pm: Friends of Library Open Board Meeting. Let your voice be heard! (Call 818-343-1983 to confirm meeting time).

Jan 19, 4-5 p.m: Teen Council: Help plan your library branch events and have some input about what materials and programs the Library offers to teens. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Jan 24, 6-7 p.m: Come to the library for an hour of astrology, alchemy and healing.

Jan 25, 4-5:30 p.m: Friends of Library History & Politics Book Club. Select and read a book on former President Bill Clinton; come prepared for a lively discussion.

Jan 26, 5:30-6:30 p.m: Book Lover's Book Club.

Jan 28, 2-4 p.m: Last Saturday of the Month Poetry. Come listen to an eclectic group of poets, and read a classic poem or one of your own creations. Each reader will have six minutes.
