Six people were taken to receive medical attention and 11 others were decontaminated at the scene, authorities said.
LOS ANGELES — Seventeen people were affected Monday by an “unknown substance” that brought hazardous material specialists to a sober living and recovery home in Tarzana, authorities said.
Emergency personnel responded around 11:30 a.m. to a house in the 18000 block of West Cassandra Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Six people — three men and three women, ages 23 to 59 — were taken in fair condition to receive medical attention in connection with the incident, authorities said, with two transported before the situation was declared a hazmat incident.
