For centuries, seismic activity has shaped the precious topography we have grown to love in Southern California; bringing majestic mountains and valleys to our breathtaking shorelines. Our dense population lives in the shadows of the restless San Andreas. The San Andreas Fault, which knives through much of California, is poised to strike.
Family Emergency Preparedness 101 will provide a deeper understanding of:
- How seismic activity has shaped Southern California.
- The basics of what happens, geographically, during an earthquake.
- Critical infrastructures that will be affected when the next Disaster (Fire, Major Utility outage), strikes.
- Early warning systems, what’s new, and where are they going?
- Preparedness, and what it means to be ‘Prepared’. (Putting your kit together, now.)
The key to Thriving when disaster strikes is to understand what has happened, what is going to happen, and what you can do to help yourself and others. In order to Thrive when the next disaster strikes, you must arm yourself with knowledge so that you know what to expect, and what immediate actions to take.
