Blaze at The Pizza Cookery Restaurant Extinguished

The fire appeared to have been started by an exterior light. No injuries were reported.

Los Angeles firefighters knocked down a fire in about 15 minutes that started in a fluorescent light outside restaurant in Encino, resulting in minimal damage, a department spokesman and the business owner said.

The fire in the 17000 block of Ventura Boulevard,was reported at 10:37 p.m. Sunday, fire department spokesman Matt Spence said. First arriving units saw smoke on the roof of the 30-foot-by-70-foot single-story building.

Forty-one firefighters knocked down the fire quickly, he said. Contacted inside the restaurant a short time later, owner Fred Moseni told City News Service the fire started in a fluorescent exterior light, causing minimal damage.

``will open for business at the regular time in the morning, 11 a.m.,'' Moseni said. No injuries were reported.
