California House Dems Back Howard Berman

By a 23-2 margin, Californian Democrats in Congress endorse Berman.

Congressman Howard L. Berman (D-Valley Village) announced today that 23 Democratic members of Congress from California have endorsed his campaign for the newly created 30th Congressional District.  These 23 members represent an overwhelming majority of California’s Democratic delegation in Congress. Only two members (out of a total of 34 Democrats) of the delegation are backing Brad Sherman.

“I’m proud to have so many of my California colleagues standing with me and supporting my campaign,” said Congressman Berman.  “Our colleagues work day in and day out with Brad and me, they see firsthand our work on behalf of California.  This endorsement is evidence that when it comes getting things accomplished, I’m more than just another vote or just another voice – I deliver.”

“With each passing day, there are more people coming forward and saying ‘I’m with Howard’,” added Berman.  “I’ve received hundreds of endorsements, from Democrats and Republicans alike. The momentum surrounding my campaign is palpable, and I’m honored so many people from the San Fernando Valley are getting behind me.”

Earlier this week the Berman campaign announced it received the support of all five members of the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors, who cover the political spectrum.  The members include two conservative Republicans, Mike Antonovich and Don Knabe, and three liberal Democrats, Zev Yaroslavsky, Gloria Molina, and Mark Ridley-Thomas.
