Children Of Dismemberment Suspect Found Safe, In-Laws Still Missing
Samuel Haskell is accused of killing his wife Mei Le Haskell. Their children have been found safe, though their grandparents remain missing.
ENCINO, CA — The children of a man arrested Wednesday in connection with the dismemberment of a woman believed to be his wife were found safe while his wife's parents remain missing, authorities said Thursday.
Police believe the dismembered remains found in a dumpster Wednesday are those of 35-year-old Samuel Haskell's wife, Mei Le Haskell, 37, who remains missing. Their three children have been found safe, were in school Wednesday, and are being cared for by other family members, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Mei Le Haskell's parents, Gaoshan Li, 72, and YanXiang Wang, 64, remain missing and are being sought by police.

Though the remains have not been positively identified as those of Mei Le Haskell, Samuel Haskell was arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife after a homeless man found a dismembered body Wednesday morning in a Ventura Boulevard trash bin, police said.
Police found only the woman's torso, placed inside a duffel bag, in the trash bin. Investigators believe the victim was dismembered to delay her identification.

The day before, witnesses called police after seeing what they believed to be body parts in bags outside the Haskell's Tarzana home. By the time police arrived, the bags were gone, the LA Times reported.
The Haskells, their children, and Mei Le Haskell's parents all lived together in a home on Coldstream Terrace, which was searched by Los Angeles Police Department officers Wednesday.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the LAPD at 877-LAPD-247.
