Over $300 raised so far for the Hearing Loss Association of America.

Several of the members of the Lodge have made donations, joined by some family members. The total is over $300.00 as of this writing.
A few of the Masons, and some family members, will also participate in HLAA’s 2024 Long Beach Walk4Hearing.

This outing was chosen because hearing, seeing, and feeling are three of the five senses that are symbolically important to Masons. Also, it allows for a family-friendly walk in a beautiful setting. Finally, the event serves the Masonic Lodge’s goals for public awareness of the fraternity and its charitable efforts.
As described by HLAA, “Walk4Hearing is a nationwide campaign which brings hope to people with hearing loss in 21 cities, meeting them in their communities to raise awareness and show support. Teams of family and friends join with local HLAA Chapters and nonprofit and business partners to raise funds for local programs and promote hearing health. Walk4Hearing is HLAA’s community of support in action, breaking down barriers to hearing health and empowering people with hearing loss across the U.S.”
Freemasonry is the world’s first and largest fraternal organization, based on the belief that a man who strives to improve himself can also improve his community and the world at large. Clarence F. Smith Daylight Lodge No. 866, under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of California, meets on many Saturday mornings, upstairs, at the Van Nuys Masonic Center, 14750 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, CA 91405.
