Summer 'Beach Bus' To Run Year Round

Supervisor Sheila Kuehl announced today that the “summer” beach bus which has been running this summer between the transit station at Warner Center (on the Orange Line) in Woodland Hills and the Santa Monica Pier via Topanga Canyon will now run year-round. In previous years, the bus service ended after Labor Day but will now run three times a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The shuttle costs $1, with a 50% discount for riders age 60 or over and people with disabilities.

Supervisor Sheila Kuehl whose office funds the bus, said, “This bus is direct, convenient and affordable. $1 gets you from the Valley to the Santa Monica Pier and is great, not only for seniors but for everyone who loves the beach but doesn't love to drive and pay to park!”Buses leave from the northwest corner of Owensmouth and Oxnard near Warner Center at 9:30 AM, 12:15 PM and 3:30 PM each day. Return trips from the Santa Monica Pier are made at 10:45 am, 2 pm and 4:45 pm. Additional stops are made along Topanga Canyon Boulevard and at Will Rogers Beach.
