Discovery Isle Students Donate Care Packages to Local Law Enforcement

Students at Discovery Isle Preschool in San Marcos recently donated more than $300 worth of snacks, water, and other useful items to the San Marcos Sheriff’s Department to thank the officers for their work in the community. Students delivered the items directly to the Sheriff’s Department and received a tour of the station, explored a patrol car, and tried on police gear.

Discovery Isle Preschool instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond. Teachers work with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
