Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Garbage Truck In Escondido
The unidentified man died at the scene, police said.
ESCONDIDO, CA — A garbage truck struck and killed a pedestrian Tuesday in Escondido, authorities said.
The fatal collision was reported at 5:41 a.m. on Quince Street near Norlak Avenue in Escondido, according to the Escondido Police Department.

"Initial information indicates the man was in the roadway on Quince Street when he was struck by a garbage truck traveling south," police said. "The driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators."
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the crash.
