Firefighters Rescue Dog Who Fell Off American River Pathway
Bandit was rescued by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District Wednesday afternoon.
Local firefighters rescued a 12-year-old member of a local family who fell while walking along the American River Parkway Wednesday afternoon: Bandit, a dog.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials say part of a trail gave out, sending the dog falling 12 feet into thick bushes.
The family was unable to reach Bandit, and called 911.

"Metro Fire crews arrived on scene and were able to quickly evaluate the situation and execute their plan," a district press release stated. "Due to their expertise in rope rescue, they were able to safely return Bandit to his apprehensive family."
