• Caregiver arrested after stolen diamond ring found, returned to elderly woman in Folsom (abc10.com) — An 88-year-old Folsom woman quickly got her stolen diamond wedding ring back after police traced it to her caregiver and made an arrest within 24 hours. The caregiver was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail on grand theft and elder abuse charges. Police are urging Folsom residents, especially seniors, to be cautious about who knows where valuables are kept.
   

• Folsom moves to close major gap in bike trail system with underground crossing (cbsnews.com) — Folsom is moving ahead with a long-awaited underground bike trail crossing under Highway 50, finally linking roughly 80 miles of north–south paved paths. City council has approved the Class I trail project, now in design, with construction targeted for summer 2027 and funding from both local dollars and a state grant to improve safety and connectivity for cyclists.
