• Eel River DAR place wreaths for National Wreaths Across America Day (times-standard.com) — More than 400 wreaths were recently laid on veterans’ graves at Fortuna’s Sunrise Cemetery as part of National Wreaths Across America Day, led by the Eel River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Volunteers honored local service members by speaking each veteran’s name, and organizers plan to return on January 17, 2026, to collect the wreaths with help from community volunteers.

He’ll replace outgoing commissioner and SoHum cannabis farmer Thomas Mulder, bringing law enforcement, logging, and land-trust experience to a powerful county board that helps shape growth and development affecting Fortuna and surrounding communities.
