Police Log, April 8-10: Woman Loses $1800 to Craigslist Scam

5:02 a.m. - Traffic Hazard - Occurred at Foster City Bl/Marlin Av, Fcy. Report of a tree downed and blocking lanes of traffic. Tree removed and roadway cleared with the assistance of FCFD and DPW. 

9:06 a.m. - City Ordinance Violation - Occurred at Gull Av/Crane Av. Illegal dumping reported. Misc. debris left on corner with possible identifying items. Items picked up by CSO and disposed of.

10:38 a.m. - Petty Theft - Occurred on Cartier Ln. 2013 tab taken at the beginning of April, unknown exact time or place. RP has already had tab replaced. 

12:10 p.m. - Residential Burglary - Occurred on Marlin Av. Darker complicated, short, young HM, wearing a short sleeve T-shirt & black shorts, subject opened upstairs bedroom and ran after seeing RP. RP states it appears her locked front door was forced open. Area canvassed, suspect still outstanding.

2:11 p.m. - Petty Theft - Occurred on Sea Horse Ct. 2013 tab taken from vehicle within past 2 weeks. 

8:26 p.m. - Health & Safety Code Violation - Occurred on Broughton Ln. Report of two subjects in a small red vehicle smoking what the RP believes is marijuana. Subjects contacted, determined to be a nearby resident speaking with a friend and HS unfounded.

10:42 a.m. - Disturbance - Occurred on Avocet Ct. Verbal argument between 2 roommates. Subjects separated, RP calling from bedroom. Contact made with both subjects. Situation abated. RP will contact the landlord. 

2:02 p.m. - Animal Call - Officer initiated activity at Catamaran/Marlin Av. White Poodle mix type dog seen walking down the street. Lost sight of dog on Sloop. 

3:49 p.m. - Petty Theft - Occurred on Shell Bl. Customer had cell phone taken and on review of video another customer had taken it. Both victim and suspect on scene. All involved parties contacted and victim declined Police action after the suspect paid for the phone. Suspect was escorted off the premises and advised not to return.

6:30 p.m. - Bike Theft - Occurred on Foster City Bl. RP reports her son called home to advise his bike was stolen sometime between 1715 HRS - 1745 HRS today. determined security had brought the bike inside because it was left outside unsecured. Bike transported back to the RP and case voided.

7:43 p.m. - Vandalism - Occurred on Shad Ct. RP reports her car windows were smashed on 03-29-13 and unknown person(s) stole her ignition interlock device on 04-06-13.

7:41 a.m. - Animal Call - Occurred at Chesapeake Av/Nantucket. Rp rpts a loose Golden lab in the area. Rp contacted and advised dog made it back home prior to arrival.

8:41 a.m. - Grand Theft - Occurred on Foster City Bl. Rp at the front counter reporting she is a victim of a Craigs List scam. Approx loss $1,800.

2:01 p.m. - Found Property - Occurred at Kids Connection Inc. Day Care on Beach Park Bl. Found bicycles reported by the preschool & the playground.
