Juveniles Arrested in Fountain Valley Burglary Investigation

Four juveniles were recently arrested in connection with home burglaries in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach, police reported Tuesday.

Four juveniles from Huntington Beach were arrested last week in connection with several home burglaries in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach, police reported Tuesday.

The first arrest was made on March 13, after a Fountain Valley woman woke up when she heard noises and saw someone run out her front door, according to a news release issued by the Fountain Valley Police Department. The woman  called 911 and officers responded to the scene. Fountain Valley Police Officer Kevin Erskine found a male juvenile, who initially pretended to be asleep, lying in a flood control channel near the burglary.

He was arrested following a short foot pursuit.

After a follow-up investigation, detectives recovered stolen property and arrested three additional male juveniles suspected of being involved in the recent spike of home burglaries in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach.

Police said between January 18 and March 13, eight home burglaries were reported in Fountain Valley and 18 burglaries were reported in Huntington Beach. Fifteen attempted burglaries were also reported near the southwest portion of Fountain Valley and the southeast area of Huntington Beach.

The burglaries took place at night and in most cases the suspects entered through unlocked doors or windows. Residents reported cash, iPhones, iPads, lap top computers, jewelry and a car stolen during the burglaries.

Police said criminal charges are being pursued through the Orange County Juvenile Court for the four juveniles.
