Baskin Robbins Closed After Rodent, Cockroach Activity Spotted

Inspectors found rodent and cockroach infestation in the ice cream shop on Magnolia Street.

The on Magnolia Street was briefly closed this summer after inspectors found evidence of cockroaches and rodents.

Rodent activity was seen on the floor under a storage area, under the ice machine, under an attic ladder, under an unused freezer unit and under a storage area, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency. The inspection was made on June 26.

Inspectors also found "several" dead nymph and a few dead adult cockroaches in the cabinet used to store canned soda. No live cockroaches were seen, according to the OCHCA report.

Five minor health violations were also observed by the OCHCA, including:

  • Food debris in cabinets under the front and back counter.
  • Shoes left in the food storage cart.
  • Trash in the walk-in freezer.

The restaurant was allowed to reopen later that same day.
