Cockroaches, Rodents Close Fountain Valley Businesses

Cockroaches on the walls and floor forced First Class Pizza in Fountain Valley to close, while rodents crawling around Casa Inka shut its doors temporarily.

First Class Pizza and Casa Inka in Fountain Valley were recently closed temporarily by county health officials after inspectors found cockroaches and rodents at the businesses.

During a routine inspection on Feb. 27, First Class Pizza was cited with two major health violations for cockroach infestation and improper reheating temperatures and six minor health violations. According to the health report, inspectors observed "one live adult cockroach on the wall behind the freezer," among other signs of cockroaches.

First Class Pizza was later allowed to reopen after a follow-up inspection.

During a routine inspection on Jan. 29, Casa Inka was cited with one major health violation for rodent infestation and six minor health violations. According to the health report, inspectors observed "one live rodent in a plant located in the kitchen doorway," and rodent droppings in several other areas.

Casa Inka was later reopened after passing a follow-up inspection.
