A Huntington Beach man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stabbing another man during an argument in Fountain Valley sparked by "threatening" text message between two women, a police official reported.

Randy Lee Amado, 33, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon stemming from an incident that began Saturday, July 13, according to Fountain Valley police Sgt. Ron Varner. At about 1:50 p.m., police responded to a home in the 17000 block of Briarwood after receiving a report of two women exchanging threatening text messages.

"I can't comment on what the text messages said, but basically the women were upset about something that happened in Vegas," Varner said. "It was pretty stupid."

According to Varner, the victim and his female friend were at his home on Briarwood, when Amado and his girlfriend showed up. An argument broke out and the 30-year-old victim tried to diffuse the situation, but was stabbed with a knife.

"He was really an uninvolved party," Varner said.

According to Varner, Amado fled the area but was arrested in Huntington Beach a few days later by detectives.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital and released.

Amado was booked into the Orange County Jail.

Varner said Amado and the victim knew each other through Facebook.

No other information was immediately available.
