Fremont House Fire Displaces Family, Prompts Investigation

The fire happened in the 48400 block of Ursa Drive

FREMONT, CA -- A family in Fremont was displaced Sunday morning after a fire erupted in the garage of a two-story home. Fire officials said the incident was reported shortly before 5 a.m. in the 48400 block of Ursa Drive.

The garage was fully-involved in the fire, which spread smoke through the rest of the house and threatened a nearby home, fire officials said in a press release.

The home suffered major damage to the garage with smoke and operational damage to the interior. Two vehicles were also damaged by the fire. Officials estimate the damage to the home is $120,000 and the damage to the contents is $100,000.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire, officials said.

The fire is under investigation.
