New Housing, Commercial Space Approved In Fremont

The project will include 93 apartment units and 72 townhomes. The ground floor includes commercial space.

FREMONT, CA — At the Fremont City Council meeting held on March 19, 2019, a new mixed-use development proposed by developer SiliconSage Builders was approved. The project will be located on Fremont Boulevard between Parish Avenue and Peralta Boulevard.

It will feature 26,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space with 93 rental apartment units on the upper floors along Fremont Boulevard and 72 for-ownership townhomes at the rear of the site facing Peralta Boulevard, Parish Avenue, and Jason Way.

The approved project includes demolition of the former Fire Station No. 6 located on the site.

It includes infrastructure improvements to perimeter streets, such as a new traffic signal and wider sidewalks.

The developer agreed to provide a variety of community benefits, including a community room available to the public to be named in honor of former Fremont Fire Chief Dan Lydon, historical displays documenting the former Fire Station No. 6 building, streetscape beautification, and discussions with local trade unions about providing work for the construction of the project.
