• 4 CA firefighters died by suicide in last 90 days, association president shares own struggles (abc30.com) — Fresno firefighters and mental health advocates are sounding the alarm about a surge in firefighter suicides statewide, highlighting local peer support efforts within Fresno Fire and NAMI Fresno. California Professional Firefighters Association president Brian Rice shares his own suicide attempt and addiction struggles to encourage others to seek help. Local leaders stress that trauma is constant for first responders and that asking for support is vital.
   

• 15 shots fired into Fresno home, no one injured, police say (yourcentralvalley.com) — Five people inside a northwest Fresno home were unharmed after two suspects fired about 15 shots at the house on North Knoll Drive early Saturday morning, police say. Bullets hit the garage and living room wall, and investigators are still searching for two men in a dark sedan while asking residents to share any information.
   

• Week in Review: December 12, 2025 (ca.gov) — Fresno County youth benefit from a donation raised by incarcerated residents at Avenal State Prison, helping Coalinga High’s Class of 2028 afford key graduation costs. Fresno State’s debate team also partnered with Valley State Prison students for a semester-long debate program, while prisons statewide hosted training, charity golf, and holiday events supporting Central Valley kids.
