Amgen Tour 2012 to Ride Through Glendora

Glendora will again host a portion of the premier cycling event.

, considered the largest cycling event in America, will once again wind through Glendora.

Glendora will be along the 800-mile course during the 7-day race, May 13-20, 2012.

Sixteen teams comprised of some of the world’s best-known cyclists will compete in the Amgen race in preparation for the Tour de France and the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Cyclists will whiz through Glendora during Stage 7 along Sierra Madre Avenue to Glendora Mountain Road and finishing at Mt. Baldy.

The Amgen Tour was established in 2006 and has become known as the premier cycling event in America, garnering more than 2 million spectators each year.

Last year’s for the first time, with local residents welcoming cyclists along Glendora’s downtown Village Center.
