Glendora High Cross Country Coach Dies at 64

Don Sumner coached the Tartans to a CIF-Southern Section title.

Don Sumner, a cross country coach who led Glendora High School to a CIF-Southern Section title died last week. He was 64.

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Sumner coached cross country and track at Glendora for 18 years. He coached the team to five league championships, with the boys team heading to CIF finals in the last four years.

Funeral services for Sumner will be Wednesday at Forest Lawn in Covina at 7 p.m.
