The second annual Wine Walk offers visitors a 1940s ambiance.

The Business Improvement District takes visitors to Glendora’s Shopping Village down a nostalgic trip to the 1940s in this year’s Wine Walk.
The second annual Wine Walk takes place Friday, Feb. 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Live swing bands will serenade guests and World War II memorabilia will be put on display to add to the yesteryear ambiance. Visitors are also encouraged to arrive in their vintage-inspired attire, as well as make donations to the Glendora War Memorial Fund.
“It’s a great Valentine’s Day gift idea,” said Wine Walk Committee Chair Sarah Trent. “Couples can walk hand-in-hand, and take a leisurely stroll through the village, all the while sample all the wonderful wines and treats along the way.”

Trent said she worked closely with wine experts to gather a high quality assortment of wine from around the world.
The event will feature an array of international wine - including California, Oregon South Africa, Italy, France, Spain, Germany and Australia.
Guests can also enjoy an outdoor lounge with music provided by the swing outfit Swing 4 Sale.
Trent said 35 businesses in the downtown district will take part in this year’s event. This year’s Wine Walk is expected to bring in a large crowd. Several hundred people attended last year’s event.
Jan’s Towing will provide free designated driver services within a seven-mile radius.
The Wine Walk is one of many events the BID puts on to drive traffic to the small Village area, said BID member and Glendora Interiors owner Annette Nemeth. Revenue from these events also goes toward the beautification of the downtown area, said Nemeth.
“Really these events drive some much-needed traffic to the Village and bring some life to it,” said Nemeth.
Tickets for the Wine Walk are $30 presale available at Village businesses and online at http://winewalk2011.eventbrite.com, and $35 on the day of the Wine Walk. Tickets are non-refundable and non-replaceable.
