• Gridley Honors Retiring CAL FIRE Chief (gridleyherald.com) — Gridley’s City Council has formally honored CAL FIRE Assistant Chief Archie “Chip” Fowler as he prepares to retire after more than 31 years of service. Local leaders praised his leadership of Gridley’s fire services and his role in strengthening readiness, firefighter training, and community outreach. Fowler called the Gridley team “another family” and emphasized the ongoing strength of the Gridley Fire Department partnership.
