Happy Hour goes from 5 to 7 p.m. with all kinds of drink specials and specialty Peruvian dishes available at decent prices with Mark Kostrzewa playing acoustic guitar. No cover and under 21 friendly.

Halloween/Day of the Dead Series to Close Out the Farmers Market Season

Last Farmers Market/Day of the Dead Celebration in the lot next to the Pesacadero Country Store.  Come and honor your loved ones who have passed on at the Day of the Dead Altar as well as help us close a very successful 2013 Farmers Market Season!  Light refreshments, children's activities and a whole lot of community fun will be had at this event from 3 to 7 p.m.

Trick or Treat and Costume Contest at New Leaf

New Leaf will be offering tastes of a variety of in-season apples along with a variety of yummy caramels for dipping, plus other fun tricks and treats throughout the store. Costume contest at 6 pm for prizes and bragging rights.

Half Moon Bay Brewing Company Halloween Party

Half Moon Bay Brewing Company’s annual family friendly Costume Contest will take place at 7:30 p.m. Prizes will be given for Most Original Costume, Best Group Costume, and Costume Most Likely to be Imitated Next Year. Live music will begin at 6 p.m. so you can get your goblin on to the funky sounds of the West Grand Boulevard band. Also, celebrates the arrival of the fall season with their Pumpkin Harvest Ale and fall menu offerings, including pumpkin bisque and desserts, including homemade pumpkin pie and gingersnap crust pumpkin cheesecake, through November 30. 

Poisonous Creatures and Scary Stories of the Butano Forest 

Join State Park Interpreter Rosanna for fire food, spooky stories, a night treasure hunt, and a presentation on the poisonous creatures that live in the park! All ages and friendly dogs welcome. Meet at the Campfire Center at 8 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 1

"Free First Fridays" at San Mateo County History Museum

The San Mateo County History Museum continues its "Free First Fridays" program. At 11 am, preschool children will be invited to learn about Mexican traditions. They will create papel picado (cut paper art) to take home.  Then Museum staff will conduct a special program in its Land Of Opportunity: The Immigrant Experience in San Mateo County exhibit gallery, which celebrates the Peninsula's rich ethnic diversity.  Here the youngsters will hear the story, Clatter Bash! a Day of the Dead Celebration. At 2 p.m., museum docents will lead tours of the Museum for adults.

Johnston House Holiday Boutique

Kick off the holidays with a trip to the 13th annual Johnston House Holiday Boutique. The historic house is extravagantly decorated for the holidays and packed with incredible merchandise from local artists, Half Moon Bay merchants and more.

Houston Jones at San Gregorio

Houston Jones invites you into a world of musical virtuosity and storytelling ranging from the myths of ancient Greece to the red dirt back roads of Waskom Texas.  High-octane Americana quintet Houston Jones perform amazing original folk, bluegrass, blues and gospel at 2 p.m. at the San Gregorio General Store.
