California Coastal Cleanup Day: Sept. 17

Heal the Bay has issued a call for Southland residents this year's Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sept. 17.

As part of a global effort, concerned residents in Los Angeles County will gather to pick up harmful and unsightly trash and debris from more than 60 coastal and inland sites, an area that spans close to 100 square miles—including Hermosa Beach.

Since 1990, Heal the Bay has coordinated the county’s Coastal Cleanup Day. Volunteers will pick up trask from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. in Hermosa Beach—meeting at 1201 The Strand. Park at the Community Center or speak with staff at check-in about parking next to the Pier.

Make sure to bring your own buckets, reusable bags and gloves to pick up trash.
