Hermosa Beach has opted in the Los Angeles County Energy Upgrade program so that residents could earn dollars for making environmentally friendly upgrades to their home.
Homeowners who make home upgrades to reduce energy use and conserve resources might be eligible for up to $4,500 in rebates and incentives.
The county's goal for the energy upgrade program is to improve the energy efficiency of 30,000 houses across the county by the end of 2012.
