Registered nurses that have been contracted with the will host scoliosis screenings for all seventh-grade girls and eighth-grade boys on March 10.
This is a screening to detect abnormalities of the spine. If a student is identified with a spinal abnormality, the orthopedic nurse specialist from Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles will screen the student again on March 24—all parents will be notified if their child requires another screening.
After the second screening, a letter will be sent to parents with recommendations for treatment.

The screening procedure is conducted in a private screening area, one student at a time.
If parents do not want their child screened on March 10, they must write a note to the health office stating that the student should be excused from the screening process. For students who will be screened, the 7th grade girls should wear a bathing suit top or sports bra for the screening.
