Physician Named Finalist in AMA Contest

The American Medical Association (AMA) has named Hermosa Beach physician Tracy Bercu as one of 10 finalists in its 2011 AMA App Challenge.

"Hundreds of physicians, residents and medical students sent us their ideas in the first-ever AMA App Challenge, and now AMA members have the opportunity to decide which ideas the AMA will develop as the next great medical app," said AMA Chair-Elect Steven J. Stack in a statement.

An article about Bercu's App Challenge entry was published in the Easy Reader on Thursday, titled "Hermosa Beach physician finalist in medical app contest."

Bercu serves as a practicing hospitalist at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, and completed internal medicine residency at University of Virginia and an infectious diseases fellowship at UCLA.
