Too Toxic to Trash: Jan. 22

The county and city are hosting a household hazardous waste and e-waste collection Saturday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Clark Stadium on Valley Drive.

At the roundup, residents can learn how to dispose toxic trash, and throw the trash out right then and there.

Trash you can bring: Brake fluid, paint, paint thinner, cleaners, pesticides or herbicides, batteries, pool chemicals, motor oil, expired pharmaceuticals, light bulbs, electronics.

Trash you can't bring: Hazardous waste, explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials, regular trash and tires, refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, controlled substances. Business waste will not be accepted.

Bring your waste in a sturdy box (preferably in their original labeled containers), and make sure not to mix your individual items together. There is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste per visit to the roundup. Containers and boxes can be left on site.
