Even though the dead sardines in neighboring Redondo Beach's King Harbor Marina , Patch readers continued this week to debate what caused the disaster.
- The jury is still out on 'why' they came into the Harbor in the first place. In Japan, it's a common occurrence that large amounts of small fish die off, always just before a temblor. They even have a name for them over there: 'Earthquake Fish.' - wrote
- Note that toxic algae in great quantities are largely related to human activities near the ocean. These are not typically 'natural' events at this scale. - wrote
