The Day at the Beach Triathlon in Hermosa Beach features a beginner's course. The event starts with an ocean swim (wetsuits are recommended). The swim is followed by a 10-mile bike course, climbing up Pier Avenue and then north on Valley Drive.
The course is generally a smooth loop along Valley Drive and Ardmore Avenue. There will be volunteers present to direct traffic. The subsequent run is out-and-back courses with scenic ocean views on paved roads.

5:15 a.m. Late packet pickup opens. You must bring a picture ID and your USAT card (if you're a member) when you check in. No one can pick up your packet for you.
5:15 a.m. Transition Area opens.

6:50 a.m. Mandatory race meeting at the stage.
7:00 a.m. Race Start!
9:45 a.m. Awards Ceremony
