Hermosa Beach Announces Community Meetings On PLAN Hermosa's Environmental Report

The City is encouraging the community to attend the meetings to provide input on PLAN Hermosa.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA – The city of Hermosa Beach announces the release of the Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) evaluating the potential physical impacts to the environment from the implementation of the proposed policies and actions contained within the Public Review Draft of PLAN Hermosa and announces upcoming meetings with the Planning Commission and City Council.

The Final EIR for PLAN Hermosa (State Clearinghouse # 2015081009) responds to comments submitted by the community, tribal organizations, and local or state agencies and identifies changes to the EIR based upon the submitted comments. The Draft EIR was made available in October 2016, and public comments were accepted during a 70-day review period running through Ja. 5, 2017.

The City’s outreach regarding Plan Hermosa started in July 2013, more than three and a half years ago. The Hermosa Beach community has participated in the development and refinement of PLAN Hermosa through many avenues, including 19 City Council/commission meetings (including Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, Public Works Commission, and Emergency Preparedness Advisory Commission), five community workshops, three educational series sessions, two citywide mailings, an online engagement opportunity, walking tours, and numerous press releases and reports in local papers about the process.
